Analytical Exposition

With money we can buy the things that we need every day. And there are many things that money can do.

Money is first of all a means of exchange. If you want to exchange some books that you do not need for a shirt, you may try to find someone who needs your books and who has the shirt that you want. But it is often hard to organize an exchange. It is easier to sell the books and then buy the shirt that you like.

Money is also a means of measuring the value of other things. It is easier to say how many rupiah a cow costs than to say that it has the same value as five goats.
We can also store value with money. It foes not spoil as fish or fruit or vegetables do when they are sold. The cost of things, of course, may change as time goes on and money that you have today may be less in the future. If it loses a lot of its value, money woll be a bad means of storing value. Then it will spoil farmer’s production spoil.

Finally, money is a means for making payments. You may buy a bicycle now and pay for it in five months, and make a payment of one-fifth on the cost every month. This is better than buying one-fifth of a bicycle at a time and not riding it until you have bought all parts. Many shopkeepers are happy to do this for you if your credit is good. That is, if you always make your payment on time.

The Picher of Death

You may have heard of a plant called the Picher of Death. As you can probably tell by its name, it kills and eats insects. If you want to know how, read on!

To catch flies and other insects, this plant needs a bait and a trap. The bait in this case in nectar. The trap is the cup or ‘pitcher’ shaped leaves which have short hairs at the top to give the insect a sure foothold, but slippery hairs pointing downwards, so it can’t escape once it falls in. the other part of the trap is a digestive fluid inside the cup.

How it catches the insect is really quite simple. First the insect is attracted by the nectar. Then it slips on the smooth inner surface of the plant. Next it is forced downwards by the slippery hairs. Then it falls into the digestive fluid and is drowned.

An interesting fact about this plant is that the pitcher leaves can grow to the size of a fully grown adult’s hand.

Tsunami

he term of “tsunami” comes from the Japanese which means harbour ("tsu") and wave ("nami"). A tsunami is a series of waves generated when water in a lake or the sea is rapidly displaced on a massive scale.

A tsunami can be generated when the sea floor abruptly deforms and vertically displaces the overlying water. Such large vertical movements of the earth's crust can occur at plate boundaries.

Seductions of earthquakes are particularly effective in generating tsunamis, and occur where denser oceanic plates slip under continental plates.

As the displaced water mass moves under the influence of gravity to regain its equilibrium, it radiates across the ocean like ripples on a pond.

Tsunami always bring great damage. Most of the damage is caused by the huge mass of water behind the initial wave front, as the height of the sea keeps rising fast and floods powerfully into the coastal area.

Presidential candidate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his running mate Boediono completed their seven-hour medical check-up on Monday afternoon as part of requirement to contest the July 8 presidential election.

The pair is thus the last candidate couple having their health screened at RSPAD Gatot Subroto army hospital after Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto and Megawati Soekarnoputri-Prabowo Subianto had theirs earlier on Sunday.

"I consider this as a quite heavy test. We undergo almost seven hours of detailed and in-depth check-up, including on our mental health. We are now waiting for the result and hope we can pass the test," Yudhoyono told reporters after completing his medical check-up.

Indonesian Medical Doctors Association (IDI) chairman Fahmi Idris said the medical check-up consisted of 10 tests -- one mental and nine physical health tests, including neurology, eyes, heart and circulation system, digestive system, and urinology tests.

He said the doctors team conducting the tests consisted of 43 doctors; 29 from the IDI and 14 from the army hospital.

General Elections Commission (KPU) commissioner Syamsul Bahri said that the KPU was expecting to receive the results of the test on Tuesday.

How to Make an Avocado Dessert (Goal)

  1. To easily scoop out the meat of the avocado, slice across the avocado until your knife hits the pit. Grab both halves and twist in opposite directions. Take one half of the avocado, set aside. To take out the pit, and tap it with the sharp blade of your knife so the blade gets stuck into the pit. Then twist the lower half. If you are planning to delay the preparation, keep the pit on the avocado and put the other half back to prevent oxidation.
  2. Scoop out the meat into the bowl. Add lemon juice to prevent further oxidation. If you prefer, you can slice the avocado into smaller pieces, or you can mash it with a fork.
  3. Drizzle the avocado with the condensed milk. Toss (or mix) until the avocados are thoroughly coated with the milk. (Yes, you can add an extra helping of the milk if you like).
  4. Chill in the fridge or the freezer. Do not freeze. If you do freeze it, you can reconstitute it by placing the dish in a hot water bath (the bowl, not the dish).
  5. Serve in a bowl with an extra drizzle of milk and some ice chips.

This morning with my hands full of bags, I went to the railway station to catch my train at 10:00.
I went there with a cab. To my surprise, when I just stepped my feet outside the cab, I could see a terrible beru huge crowd inside the railway station. As soon as I got myself into the crowd, I could smell millions of odor smells that were really horrible. I could not help myself to get rid of that because my hands were full with luggage. I just squeezed myself between two Chinese people and managed to pull myself out of the crowd onto the bridge to the railway station. I was luck as I have booked the ticked to Alor Seter. So I didn’t bother to queue up for a ticket.

Harvesting machines

Headers harvest crops such as wheat, barley and oats. These machines are also known as combine harvesters. Headers combine the three operations needed to harvest a crop -- reaping, threshing and winnowing.
The comb on the front of the header cuts the heads off the stalks (reaping). The auger pulls the heads into the machine. The stalks left standing in the paddock are called stubble.

Threshing involves separating the grains from the head. The drum rotates, beating the heads. Straw and chaff (bits of stalk) are fed out the back of the header. Straw is spread over the ground. Stock can graze on this and the standing stubble left after harvest.

There are a number of screens in the header. Grain passes over these and fans blow the husks away. This is called winnowing. The clean grain is stored in the box. When this is full the grain is augered out into a chaser bin or truck.

The Last Emperor

In The Last Emperor, director Bernardo Betolucci not only gives us a fascinating history lesson but also compelling human drama. It is the story of Pu Yi, who came to throne in 1908 at the age of 2. The performances are outstanding and the movie is spectacular in every way. The 3 hours fly by, and the audience is left feeling they have gotten to know a great country and sensitive, unusual an.

Don't go see The Last Emperor if you're expecting a history lesson. Bertolucci's epic about the rise and fall of Pu Yi is hardto follow and confusing at times. But he has done a remarkable job of portraying the Chinese culture, and he has captured China in stunningly beautiful images. There are some touching scenes, such as when the young Pu yi's nurse is taken from him.Unfortunately, the movie is toolong and tends to drag on times.

Bernardo Bertolucci is a talented director. Why he made The Last Emperor is a mystery. True, the scenery and customes are nice. But the main character is passive and dull. he simply watches his life go by. You'd expect a film which covers60 years of history to be exciting. But the 3 hours of The last Emperor drag on forever. At last the film is consistent-consistently boring.

Saved by stilts

The king wanted to test Abu Nawas’ smartness. So he invited Abu Nawas to the palace. “You want me, your Majesty?” greeted Abu Nawas. “Yes, you have fooled me three times and that’s too much. I want you to leave the country. Otherwise you will have to go to jail” said the king. “If that is what you want, I will do what you said” said Abu Nawas sadly. Then “Remember, from tomorrow you may not step on the ground of this country anymore” the king said seriously. Then Abu nawas left the king palace sadly.
The following morning the king ordered his two guards to go to Abu Nawas’ house. The guards were very surprised found Abu Nawas still in his house. He had not left the country yet. Instead leaving the country, Abu Nawas was swimming in small pool in front of his house. “Hey Abu Nawas, why haven’t you left this country yet? The king ordered you not to step on the ground of this country anymore, didn’t he?” said the guards. “Sure he did” answered Abu Nawas calmly. “But look at me! Do I step on the ground of this country? No, I do not step on the ground. I am swimming on the water” continued Abu Nawas.
The guards were not able to argue with Abu Nawas so they left Abu Nawas’ house and went back to the palace. The guards reported what they had seen to the king. The king was curious on Abu Nawas’ excuse not to leave the country. Therefore the king ordered his guard to call Abu Nawas to come to the palace.
Abu Nawas came to the palace on stilts. The king wondered and said “Abu, I will surely punish you because you haven’t done what I have said. You have not left this country”. The King continued “And now, look at you. You walk on stilts like a child. Are you crazy? The king pretended to be furious.
“I remember exactly what you said, Your Majesty” Abu Nawas answered calmly. “This morning I took a bath in the small pool in my house so that I had not to step on the ground. And since yesterday, I have been walking on this stilts. So you see, Your Majesty, I do not step on the ground of this country”. The king was not able to say anything.
